What/ When is Proposition A?
Proposition A is the DC-backed proposition putting gerrymandering into place in Missouri. It allows DC political consultants to rig Missouri elections and manipulate outcomes so that Missouri voters have no power over who represents us. People Not Politicians — a coalition of Republican, Democrat, and Independent Missourians —encourages Missourians to vote NO on Proposition A. Missourians will get to vote no on Proposition A during the general election on November 3, 2026.
What does a NO vote mean?
A vote NO on Proposition A stops DC politicians from rigging elections in Missouri to guarantee their own re-elections and benefit themselves at our expense. A NO vote will allow Missouri voters to pick their politicians instead of politicians picking their voters.
What does a YES vote mean?
A vote YES on Proposition A lets politicians choose their voters. It means when corrupt DC politicians benefit themselves at our expense, they can just redraw voting maps to guarantee their own re-election, so you can never vote them out. DC is failing Missouri on costs and inflation, but if Proposition A passes, Missourians won’t be able to fire them when they fail us. It won’t matter how you vote because politicians already decided who wins.
What is gerrymandering?
Gerrymandering is when politicians choose their voters, instead of voters choosing their politicians. It’s how politicians and special interests rig elections to guarantee the outcome before a single vote is cast. DC politicians are trying to do it in Missouri with Proposition A. That’s why Missourians will reject politicians’ gerrymandered map by voting NO on Proposition A on November 3, 2026 in the general election.
Is Missouri gerrymandered?
Gerrymandering is when politicians in DC redraw voting maps to guarantee their own re-elections — and that’s exactly what Proposition A would allow. Proposition A would split Kansas City into three districts. By combining Kansas City with communities as far away as the Illinois/Iowa border and Lake of the Ozarks, politicians are seeking to dilute the power of voters to elect representatives of their own choosing. Missourians will have an opportunity to reject gerrymandering on November 3, 2026 by voting NO on Proposition A.
Is HB1 different than Proposition A and the People Not Politicians campaign?
HB1 is the legislation politicians passed to gerrymander Missourians’ voices out of politics. People Not Politicians collected more than 305,000 signatures to give Missourians the opportunity to vote on this political power grab. HB1 is now before voters as Proposition A, and Missourians will have the opportunity to veto the rigged map by voting NO on Proposition A on November 3, 2026.
What is the People Not Politicians referendum? Are Proposition A and People Not Politicians the same thing?
